I’m Miles.
I write about sports and ride horses.
I write for Ascend Magazine — a sports and outdoor publication striving to illuminate the best of humanity through sport. Right now, I’m writing about ultrarunners, high school football, and freestyle snowboarding.
I used to write for USA TODAY’s Ducks Wire, covering the Oregon Ducks football and basketball beats. These stories about Tez Johnson, Jackson Shelstad, and the history of the quarterback position in the PAC-12 are some of my favorites.
I also wrote for Athlon Sports, covering breaking news across a variety of American sports markets. (Don’t mind the pseudonyms)
At the University of Oregon, I’ve written stories about a junior Olympic snowboarder from Bend, Oregon, a 24-year-old non-profit founder, and a time-honored Oregon football gameday tradition.
